About Me
Laura has a BA (hons) in Psychology, and trained in Canada as a Child Life Specialist. She moved to the UK in 2010, where she has worked as a senior Play Specialist for over 12 years with children and young people receiving radiotherapy treatment. Laura completed her master’s degree in Child Life and Paediatric Psychosocial Care in 2019, as well as a diploma in childhood bereavement in 2015.
Laura joined the Spread a Smile team in 2019, where she works as the Director of Services, helping to deliver therapeutic entertainment programmes in hospitals across London and greater England. Laura has always been passionate about advocating for children and young people's psychosocial needs in healthcare environments, and the importance of play and recreation to help foster coping and resilience.
Laura supported Flynne and her family when Flynne received radiotherapy for a brain tumour, so is delighted to be able to support the work of Flynne's Barn and her legacy.
