Meitheal Cheoil 2019

The Meitheal Cheoil Irish music troupe based in North London has now held three fundraisers for Flynne’s Barn. The musical evenings show-cased the young musicians’ St Patrick’s Day performances in March 2017, 2018 and 2019. As well as raising an incredible amount, in excess of £6,000 (including T-shirt sales), the gatherings provided an opportunity for friends of Flynne, both young and old, to come together and enjoy the music and friendship that she loved so much.

In 2019 Kathy Walton’s St Patrick’s Troupe completely won the audience over with their confident performance and skilled musicianship. The playing, singing, lilting and dancing were fantastic- what a performance and what characters!

We were delighted to welcome Ellie Rowsell, Joel Amey and Theo Ellis from Wolf Alice who thrilled everyone with an acoustic set. They performed their hits, “I Saw You” and “Bros” as well as the classic Pogues song , “A Pair of Brown Eyes”s to get everyone in the mood. We were also treated to performances by Finn Doherty and Ben James, Maya Shoul, Rozy Hunt, Madeline Jenkins, Derry Daley and Tim Bradford. Flynne’s good friend Aoise Haran debuted a beautiful song she wrote for Flynne; “Life Changing”. Thank you to you all for contributing to the musical delights of the night.

A huge thank you to all those who performed, to James who sorted the sound, to all who came along and to those who helped with the organisation. It was a heart-warming community event which drew together folk of all ages. A massive thank you to Kathy Walton for making it all happen and we’re already looking forward to next year. You can check out the footage here and on Flynne’s Barn YouTube.

We are so grateful to all our fantastic fundraisers and friends for your generosity, support and hard graft. Flynne's Barn is gathering momentum. We're on our way!
