1 Million steps in 30 days

John Temple who farms in Buttermere walked a remarkable 1 million steps in the month of April. That makes an average of 30,000 steps EVERY DAY. John tries to work his sheep farm mostly on foot and is responsible for overseeing the rain gauge on Helvellyn mountain (950m). This, together with a busy lambing time, helped to clock up the steps. John has raised a fabulous £2270. Amazing! Thank you John!

I can’t think of a setting more inspiring than Thorneythwaite, nestled among the mountains and wide open skies. The farm is a haven of peace and tranquillity.
